Don't Forget To Say Your Prayers
Prayer Warrior
Lydia Ford has written an incredibly honest and transparent story of her life. In the midst of past storms and life-changing events, the death of her only daughter, and at the time of publication, the untimely death of her husband of 37 years, Rev. Ford has courageously held fast to her testimony, "Don't Forget to Say Your Prayers," as first taught by her beloved grandmother. Surely some of you have asked the question, Why pray? Does God even care that I am hurting? How can prayer change what God has already sovereignly decreed? How can prayer help me to move forward and accept the devastating loneliness and suffering of my present situation? In this book, Lydia Ford shares how prayer helped her to face the most difficult trials and testing of her faith in God. Read her story and listen to her as she cries out and goes before the Lord with prayers and thanksgiving; relying on God for His assurance that He is only a prayer away.

When You are having trouble connecting all the dots
Father God, You said that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord (Proverbs 16:9). It is common for us to think that we are in control of our destiny. But we foolishly believe that if we follow some author’s ten- or twelve-step personal development or self-help program, we will reach our goals. (Read More)
When You feel like a quarterback who has been sacked for the tenth time in the game, and you’ve no more strength to throw the long ball to the running back that’s going for a touchdown
Father God, Someone once said, “When life gives you lemons, just make lemonade.” Lord, I realize that things are not always going to go the way that I planned. Sometimes, stuff just happens. Time and chance happen to all men. “Lord, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2). (Read More)
When Your Misery Becomes Your Ministry
Father God, I love you and I trust you. I have found you to be a faithful God. I know that as a result of this tremendous pain and loss that I’m currently experiencing, you will turn my mourning into dancing. I believe that I will emerge from this trial a stronger, more powerful, effective, and anointed vessel for your glory Father God, 2Corinthians 4:17(NKV) states that: “Our light affliction, which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” (Read More)
When you feel insecure, inferior, and rejected by others.
Father God,
Thank you for the ministry and preaching that I heard on the subject of rejection recently. I didn’t realize that rejection opens the doors to so many evil spirits. It can lead to hurt, anger, rebellion, instability in one’s emotions, jealousy, and unforgiveness, just to name a few things. I recognize that I have suffered from rejection on both my mother’s side and on my father’s side as well. The emotional effects of rejection have been passed down through my family line, and I can now recognize the effect that it had on my life and on both of my children. Lord, I know that you want me to be stable in my emotions so I can bear the fruit that you speak about in Galatians 5:22. You desire that I receive your love and submit to my husband and other authority figures. I thank You that your Word says that “I’m accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6). I don’t have to worry about you rejecting me because you also said in Psalm 27:10, “When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” You, Heavenly Father, saw me and approved of me while I was still in my mother’s womb (Psalm 139:16). You gave me survival tools that have brought me to the place where I am today. You are a God who has been waiting for me to come to the knowledge of the truth. I don’t have to look to a man’s approval in order to be validated. Future rejection may hurt but it will be only for a season. You are my strength, You are my shield, You protect me from all of the fiery darts that the enemy hurls my way (Ephesians 6:16–17). Father, you are my High Priest. You are the one who understands and sympathizes with my weaknesses and infirmities. You are the one who has seen what the root of rejection has done to me and my family. I pray for mercy and grace to help me in my time of need. I ask you to forgive my sins. I receive your mercy and healing to dispel the rejection I am suffering and have suffered because of false accusations and negative words spoken by others. Father, Jesus was despised and rejected—a Man of Sorrows, acquainted with bitterness and grief. I thank You that your Son has redeemed me from every curse and sin by the power of His blood, through His resurrection. The Bible says that “Whom the Son has set free, is free indeed” (John 8:36). Thank you for delivering me from the root of rejection. Thank you for giving me a new heart. Help me to love you and others the way Christ loves us. Help me to let people, who have wronged me or spoken negative words over my life, off the hook. In the face of rejection, I will declare that “The Lord is my light and my Salvation—whom shall I fear or be afraid of” (Psalm 27:1). I know that you Lord, are my vindicator. Your justice and mercy shall last forever and your salvation from generation to generation. In spite of the rejection I have experienced, I decree and declare that everything that you say about me in Your Word is true. “I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3). I am your workmanship created in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:20). I release myself from all offenses past, present, and future and I walk in your eternal love.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen."
Testimonials
Great Feedback
A testimonial from my Mentee in Kenya.
When we met in Kenya, she had recently lost a husband and 2 children. She was devastated and full of despair. She came to our 2018 Women of Valor Educational Empowerment Summit and sat in my widows class for 5 days. I ministered on Widows Rising Up To Pursue Your Purpose. After the conference, I gave her my Teaching Material. And She ran with it. Since then she graduated from Bible School became an Elder, and was asked to speak at this year's conference.
I recently sent her the series, Women of Color Daily Devotional to teach and share with her widow's group. I am godly proud of her.
